Title: Old Hippie

Gender: Female

Age: 63

Sun Sign: Libra

Chinese Sign: Fire Dog

Location: New York, NY United States

About Me:

Mature INDIGO born in 1946. Highly intuitive Crone (love Jungian archetypes), Mentor, White Witch, Atheist, Spiritual Sister, and Destroyer of Lies. I can smell compost (aka BS) at 500 yards.

Dropped out of college in 1969, lived in communes in Big Sur, CA and Eugene, OR. Did street theater in NYC, lived on the island of Ibiza in the '70s in an old farmhouse ($12/month) with no electricity, no running water.

Extensive solo traveling in North Africa, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Mexico, Italy, France, Spain. Always travel alone so that I'm not in a bubble that excludes being absorbed into the culture of hospitality and friendship I've experienced everywhere.

Graduated from Columbia U. with a BA in Cultural Anthropology. Specialized in Maya Studies. Studied with Margaret Mead.

Worked in advertising for 15 years as an art director. Philosophically opposed to consumerism although I did enjoy some of the flow of creative work, especially with images.

Married at 37. My son is now 22 and brilliant, handsome, spiritually inclined, and a political activist at Hunter College, working towards inter-cultural and inter-religious harmony.

Ex-hippie and 60 is the new 40. Looking to communicate with thinking people who seek harmony and higher consciousness.

Profoundly atheist and profoundly spiritual woman, mother.

Proud of my Yiddishkeit (my heritage) as a Jew, yet not particularly interested in being “Jewish”. Far more interested in the history of all religions. philosophies. Have dabbled in reading about the occult, particularly as an expression of human behavior.

My training as an Anthropologist makes me objective about all human behavior.

Have spent a lifetime reading about all religions and philosophies. I have tried to take the bits of each that appeal and resonated the most for me and apply them to my life.

Have a tendency to revere the Buddha but open to other great philosophers and thinkers, mostly my son.

I apply the 4 Basic Truths that Siddartha iterated.

As an art director, I've done pro bono work at Tibet House in NYC.

MY POD: SPIRITUAL ATHEISM

Just started it 6/18/07. Feel free to dive in. It's a place for respectful questions, debates, experiences, education, teaching, learning, and an open forum for well-meaning, inquiring people to feel safe in their beliefs. Open to theists of all kinds, as well as atheists of all kinds.
